After nearly 20 wonderful years of running this B&B I have decided to start winding down bookings in order to spend more time with the family.

I have so enjoyed meeting what must be hundreds of interesting and lovely people over the years, and providing a comfortable space for all manner of purposes - from business trips to opera goers to simply a warm bed after a hard days walking over the South Downs!

I'd like to thank the many loyal returning guests, many of whom I shall enjoy a lasting friendship with. This is the aspect of hosting I shall miss most of all I expect.

Having said that however, I do already have a number of regulars booked in for 2023, but I'm keeping it very low key.

It has been hard to make this decision, but with a growing number of grandchildren I feel the time has come to prioritise an ever- expanding social family diary!

Welcome

We offer a warm and friendly welcome in our Victorian family home, which is situated in a tree lined residential road about 10 minutes walk from the town centre and station. There is always space to park outside the house. If you are arriving by train, there is a good taxi service at the station, or we are happy to provide transport if convenient.

We have two beautiful rooms, a twin and a double, and if you click on Accommodation, you will see and read about them in more detail.

Guests in either room are welcome to use the peaceful sitting room any time during their stay, where there is a cosy open fire on chilly days.

We have a lovely garden, and in Summer guests often breakfast outside where there are several pretty and sheltered spots to sit and relax.
